Talos Vigilance sends quote follow-ups and review requests on behalf of subscribing trades businesses. Every message requires the end customer's real, documented consent first — never a purchased list, never an assumption. This page shows the exact language and mechanisms used to capture and honor that consent. It also documents how a client's own business owner opts in to the few account texts Talos Vigilance sends directly (Method 4). Talos Vigilance has no active clients yet: Methods 3 and 4 below are live and in use today; Methods 1 and 2 are fully designed and will be required of every client at onboarding, marked below as not yet in use.
Not yet in use — Talos Vigilance has no active clients yet, so no real customer has used this method. Every client will be required to add this checkbox to their own quote-request form before their end customers are texted anything, from the moment they're onboarded. It sits directly below the phone number field, defaults to unchecked, and is always optional — the form submits successfully whether or not it's checked; SMS consent is never a condition of getting a quote or receiving service. Shown below with a representative business name.
Unchecked here (and on every real client form) by default, not pre-selected — the customer must actively check it themselves, and can leave it unchecked and still submit the form and receive their quote. Direct links to the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service sit right at the point of consent, not just elsewhere on the site.
Updated 2026-09-16 per Twilio A2P 10DLC Appeals Team feedback (ticket #29490518) to add direct Privacy Policy/Terms of Service links at the point of consent, alongside the earlier fix making the checkbox itself genuinely optional.
Not yet in use — this requires a client-facing logging feature that has not been built yet. When built, a technician who quotes or books a job in person rather than online will read the customer this exact script and log the outcome (yes/no, date, and who confirmed it) immediately afterward — never assumed, never backfilled from memory.
Updated 2026-09-15 per Twilio A2P 10DLC Appeals Team feedback (ticket #29490518) to add the message-frequency disclaimer and a reference to the governing privacy policy/terms — both now included in the spoken script itself, not just implied.
For a customer who isn't reachable in person or online, one opt-in invitation may be sent. No follow-up messages are ever sent unless the customer replies YES. A real example exchange:
No further message is sent until this reply is received. A pending invitation expires after 30 days if there's no reply. Added 2026-09-22: this is a real, tested, operating capability today, not just a description — the invitation is really sent, and a real YES reply is really matched back to it and records real consent.
Separate from the three methods above (which cover a client's customers), Talos Vigilance also sends a short monthly account check-in and occasional service alerts (for example, when a Jobber connection needs reconnecting) directly to a client's business owner. Those texts are sent only to an owner who ticked this optional checkbox on our own quote form at talosvigilance.com/quote, directly under the phone field. It is unchecked by default, is never required to get a quote, and the timestamped consent is stored with the submission:
An example of a message sent under this method:
Added 2026-09-21. An owner who does not tick the box receives email only.
A reply of STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, REVOKE, or "opt out" — with or without punctuation — ends messaging to that customer permanently, and so does any other clear request to stop, anywhere in a reply (for example "please stop texting me", "remove me from your list" or "don't text me anymore"), in line with the FCC's rule that consent can be revoked by any reasonable means. This is enforced in code, not by a person remembering to update a list.
A customer who replies YES to an invitation receives one confirmation naming the business, with how to opt out (STOP) and get help (HELP).
